If elected I will work towards the following:
The state needs to dramatically cut back schools of choice, and charter schools. This will revive the tried and true local control of schools. Teacher’s unions will benefit, but must be forced to battle between active teacher salaries versus retiree pension costs and retiree health care with class sizes held constant. We cannot let class sizes expand or the loser in allocating the set amount of funds becomes the children.
Unite opponents of school choice and charter schools and put a proposal on the 2016 ballot with this wording “Outlaw all charter schools and schools of choice”
This is simply a reversion back to the 1990 model of local control of school districts. This constitutional amendment is necessary to by-pass the legislature—for profit charter schools are simply so profitable that their political contributions to legislators will protect the for-profit charter schools.
